Thank you for your interest in becoming a Makaton For… Trainer Training.
Becoming a Makaton Trainer means you can deliver approved Makaton training to your colleagues and team. Whether you work in healthcare, education, wellbeing, early years, or emergency response, this pathway helps you embed Makaton across your organisation.
We currently offer the following Makaton For… Trainer topics:
- Early Years Settings
- Urgent & Emergency Care
- General Wellbeing
To apply, you must have completed Makaton Levels 1 and 2 within the last five years.
Full details about the Trainer pathway, including available topics, entry requirements, fees, the application process, and the Trainer brochure, can be found here:
Important information about the Trainer pathway:
Please note that the Makaton For… Trainer route is a workplace-specific training pathway. Trainees complete a topic-specific course and are licensed only for that topic.
- Trainers may deliver training only within their own organisation/workplace
- Trainers cannot deliver Levels 1–4
- Trainers are not licensed to deliver training externally or to other organisations
- This route is designed specifically for internal staff training within a single organisation or service area
- Entry requirements (summary)
- A Level 2 certificate must be uploaded as part of the application
If you’d like support choosing the most suitable topic, or if you’re unsure whether the Trainer or Tutor pathway is right for you, please contact us at help@makaton.org, and we’ll be happy to help.
