Makaton Tutors are only licenced to deliver Makaton Services in the United Kingdom (UK - made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland), and not internationally in any form, regardless of the spoken language i.e. English.
We have several international contracts, licensed individually, where a formal review is done to ensure areas such as local culture are taken into account, as some signs and symbols are not suitable and could potentially harm sensitive cultural norms.
A direct contact living in the country is also required for longer-term sustainability and maintenance.
If you are contacted by someone in another country looking for Makaton support, please direct them to help@makaton.org where we will review their request via the Director of Communication.
If you find there is someone on one of your workshops from another country, please ensure they are notified that they cannot learn from a UK based Tutor and need to contact the Charity. If they have paid for their course, please refund them.
